Special library for curative education to be integrated into Goetheanum library

creado por translated by Bettina Hindes |
As of October 2018, the approx. 7,000 titles from the Curative Education and Social Therapy Library of the Anthroposophic Council for Inclusive Social Development have been integrated into the public Goetheanum Library. This makes the specialised literature also available via the catalogue of the IDS Basel Bern library network.

The collection of the Curative Education and Social Therapy Library comprises almost the entire German anthroposophical literature on curative education and social therapy. The collection includes journals, books and academic literature as well as titles in other languages. Through the integration into the Goetheanum Library, the collection will now be accessible to the public for research projects and individual studies and via the electronic catalogue of the IDS Basel Bern library network.

Jan Göschel from the management team of the Anthroposophic Council for Inclusive Social Development: "I am delighted that this collection, which was created by Rüdiger Grimm with the support of Gabriele Scholtes, is being professionally maintained and further developed through the cooperation between the Goetheanum Library and the Council - which will benefit research work and interesting projects. Maxime Le Roux, director of the Goetheanum Library, sees the cooperation as a qualitative improvement for the Goetheanum Library and promises that "the special field of curative education and social therapy will be well represented in the Goetheanum Library."

The integration of the specialised library is one step among others towards advancing and presenting the international and interdisciplinary diversity of the field of anthroposophical curative education and social therapy. Further steps are the renaming of the conference for curative education and social therapy into the Anthroposophic Council for Inclusive Social Development and the launch of a new website.

Goetheanum
as Worldwide
Spiritual
Center

The Goetheanum is a center of a worldwide network of spiritually engaged people. It is the seat of the School of Spiritual Science  and the General Anthroposophical Society, which serves as a place of exchange for those with spiritual questions, and a place for trainings in scientific and artistic fields.

Events range from lectures on special themes, to large, international conferences, to performances by  ensembles and guest performances in Eurythmy, theater, puppetry and music.

Situated in the Jura landscape, 10 Kilometers South of Basel, the Goetheanum sits grand on the Dornach hill, with its expressive architecture and picturesque garden park, café, bookstore and gift shop.
