The task of the School of Spiritual Science is research in the field of medicine, the stimulation and treatment of practical questions as well as continuing education in anthroposophically oriented fields of work. The School is today divided into a General Anthroposophical Section and ten other sections. The basis of the work was laid by Rudolf Steiner in 1924 for the members of the school as part of their first class ("class lessons").

Requirements to become member of the school are the familiarity with the basics of anthroposophy and anr own meditative practice, the willingness to cooperate and commitment to anthroposophy, as well as for a representation of the same. – The school has its center at the Goetheanum. The work takes place worldwide in the context in which members of the school are active.
